Jill Taylor’s Stroke of Insight

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened — as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

This video stands as a testament to the understanding of Male and Female energy, through the awareness of the different hemispheres of the brain, and the different levels of reality that each of them interact with.

  1. As a child I used to dream quite lucid with many beings of light surrounding me. Recalling now that sometimes I awoke refreshed and energetic while on some occasions my dream turned chaotic and I awoke sweating and scared. The chaotic dream would start like the others peaceful, immeasurable and conected to everything much like what Jill described as her nirvana state. The change as I recall it was this very heavy pressure that seemed to close about me as light seemed to fade and a period of darkness seemed to morph into different colors of which did not seem as something I was viewing with my eyes but more like something that was surrounding me and I was part of it. A new feeling of things changing or moving very fast much like the turns and slopes on a roller coaster had a hold of me and was accelerating at an astronomical rate yet this is not what frightened me. When everything turned very very red and it was hot and noisy then I was afraid.
The memory of this does not bother me now but as a child it did.
