APRIL FOOLS! ~ If we can’t be who we are, then we really have sold out!

Ahh, the first of April! A day for jokes and folly, to live the Tarot card “The Fool”!

In case you’re late to the party, here is a link to our April fools joke

TheFoolFun fact, (and I just found this out last night), but did you know that its most likely that April Fools originated when the calendars changed from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian Calendar?  There were a lot of people who weren’t happy about it, who thought that they were actually losing days of their lives because of that change, (It was the dark ages after all), and decided to keep celebrating new years on April 1st!

From there, the mainstream people would literally make fun of those people who stuck with the old system, and April 1st started to become a day of festivities of fools in a way. Since then there have been plenty of different forms of this celebration, and today we call it April Fools.

You can read more about that here if you like, but there’s something deeper that I want to talk about relating to all of this.

This morning, while we were reading all of the comments for April Fools, Ray was walking around talking with Uncle Bob and he said “You know what? If we can’t be who we are and have some fun, then we really have sold out!”, and that really spawned the basis of this article.

Spiritual Quest

Spirit Science started as me, in my basement, making videos about something I was passionate about. Nobody paid me to make it, nobody asked me to make it, and there was no influence in its creation other than I felt so compelled inside to make it, that I did whole heartedly.

Since then, i’ve had a whirlwind of adventure, meeting people and engaging in projects and plans. A lot of people wanted to do things for money, and a lot of people didn’t, and it’s been a lifelong learning of lessons about intentions and motivations and merging ideas together to create with pure of heart… and the core team is pretty fabulous at this point in time, though you haven’t met everyone just yet.

A lot of people have accused us of selling out throughout time, and that’s something we’ve put a lot of focus into identifying what it means, and how NOT to do it.

Ray described earlier very eloquently, selling out is when there is a relationship formed that not everybody benefits from in equal amounts.

The modern definition that comes up on Google is:

Selling out is a common idiomatic pejorative expression for the compromising of a person’s integrity, morality, authenticity, or principles in exchange for personal gain, such as money.
There’s a song about it which I used to listen to all the time as a kid. One of my favorite bands growing up, Reel Big Fish!

In all of our time creating together, we have purposefully gone to great lengths to ensure that the integrity and quality of Spirit Science comes from our hearts, and have deliberately not made any arrangements or deals that would cause us to give away our freedom and ability to create.
HAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHA

The biggest challenge, of course, is building a system that allows us to grow without giving away any earned resources to the government or IRS, and we’re almost there… That’s been a pretty big block.

But I want you to know, even though I had a REALLY fun time putting together those fox news pictures, that would never happen for realz.
Promise.

Really, it’s not even possible.

Like, at all.

Love you SO much,
Thank you for reading,
Jordan Pearce
