Have you eaten at the same restaurant for the last three years, but the wait staff doesn’t even know your name? Prefer to read a book in a corner rather than sit around your friends, generally being terrified of people yet so intrigued by them at the same time? Craving to sit at a table with a crowd, yet so unsure about how long you can hold a smile among others. You’re most likely an anxious extrovert!
There are a few rules which may help you come out of your shell in a comfortable manner.
Rule One: Have an awesome disguise!
This wouldn’t apply to a wig, shades or a fake mustache, seek more along the lines of confidence. The type you may not naturally possess. This simple prop may be enough to give you the feeling of security you may need to get by. A bit like acting can trigger an Adrenalin rush, being the BEST you may have the same effect! What is an Empath? Why do they always find themselves in the position of caregiver and sometimes even the pushover? Being the healer, they tend to be attracted to those who are broken or negative. They are absorbers of other’s struggles, the fixers and generally unaware of one’s boundaries. They are strongly drawn to narcissists as they feel the need to “fix” them.
What is a Narcissist? The takers of the relationship scale, very capable of sucking energy out of their surrounding acquaintances and family members, they spot an empath a mile away. Knowing empaths to give their all, they play this to their advantage to feed their own energy reserves.
Empaths will often see the world as others’ suffering, trying to rationalize every incident. They are the strong yet also the weak as they assume everyone is as sincere as them.
Narcissists feel nothing in manipulating an empath, rising above others to gain control. Whereas an empath craves love, care and understanding. Sadly, this combination will always end up in heartache as the more love and care an empath offers, the more powerful and in control a narcissist will become.
“We know that “narcissist” has become a bit of a buzzword recently, and some folks are quick to apply it to an ex-lover or family member or friend. While awareness of this concept is healthy, so is remembering that it is, in a mental health context, a serious condition that shouldn’t be applied to someone you’re mad at because they stole your mirror.” ~ Eds.
As a narcissist gains power, the empath starts to retreat. This undoubtedly shoves an empath into a victim’s position. One way out id to then become the narcissist. Before long, a vicious cycle has formed. Continue reading →
For decades, drugs have been the go to for parents who think they have a child with ADHD. Too many children grow up being synthetically forced to align with the general expectations of schools and psychologists in the last few decades; one wonders how different our generation of 25-35 year olds could have been.
A group of American psychologists now claim to have a completely different theory on why children may display what was once coined “ADD and ADHD”. They now claim that these children may in fact posses what some deem to be “supernatural powers.”
In reality, an indigo child is someone who is more sensitive, aware and naturally insightful than other children. It has nothing to do with being more special or unique than anyone else; it is just their perception of reality.
Vice did a documentary on Indigo children, and to be expected, it wasn’t very open minded. Vice is a great media source, but when it comes to spirituality, they aren’t as open to it.
Vice’s Gavin Haynes traveled through New York to potentially meet Indigo Children born in the 90’s. He wanted to understand more about them, how they feel and how their perceived psychic gifts have affected them.
While on this journey, Haynes encounters a mother and daughter duo who perform a full holistic dentistry examination, has his aura read and meets the Indigo rap duo “The Underachievers” who preach Indigoism as a way of life.
This documentary is interesting and informative even though it sways from being objective. It’s clear the narrator thinks the idea of indigo children is mostly a joke and can’t see the bigger picture. It’s both frustrating and interesting to watch, as he casts a subtle judgement on those who claim to be indigo. Continue reading →
“The Gadhimai Temple Trust hereby declares our formal decision to end animal sacrifice. With your help, we can ensure Gadhimai 2019 is free from bloodshed. Moreover, we can ensure Gadhimai 2019 is a momentous celebration of life … For every life taken, our heart is heavy. The time has come to transform an old tradition.”
Beautiful words!
occurring every 5 years over the last 300 years, the Gadhimai Festival has been a bloodbath of torture and sacrifice. Thousands of water buffalo, chickens among other animals will no longer face the cruel practice of beheading, throat slitting and bludgeoning all in the name of tradition.
Being nothing small in feat, the extraordinary efforts of the Humane Society International/India, Animal Welfare Network Nepal, and countless animal protection groups and individuals around the world are the reason these animals are now shown a kindness not felt in years.
There is still much to do regarding constant education and enlightenment leading up to the next festival, one where the animals will be celebrated for their life, not their death. The Gadhimai Temple Trust is most certainly to thank for their continuing efforts to remind those who are unaware that our greatest power above all is humanity.
Exploding all over social media, a long running campaign has been waged on behalf of victims of the festival. This is the benchmark for many. Proving that there is a movement towards a more humane world. People are changing, becoming kinder. Continue reading →
The nature of consciousness is still something we are trying to understand scientifically.
What we call a mental “illness” is something we deem as abnormal functions in the brain. It is a chemical imbalance that shifts the way you interact with life – but it is not an illness. It is not a disease or disability either.
Something like down syndrome is considered a disorder, because sometimes there are physical and mental impairments.
But people with down syndrome and similar “disorders” are extremely emotionally connected.
They literally live through their emotional body; similar to a child who can view the world in it’s purity. Some would say they are more connected to Source or God because of their open nature.
Anything from “ADHD” to restless leg syndrome is an official illness these days. It’s clear many of these disorders are stemming from the design of our society and blatant disconnection from each other and the earth.
There is so much stigma and misunderstanding surrounding the idea of mental illness. If we could combine science with a holistic approach to understanding consciousness, the brain, and how it all functions we could make leaps in understanding.
People usually don’t venture too far out when it comes to learning new languages. Most often knowing their home language and maybe one or two additional languages. There are far too few who seek to step beyond this. How many acquaintances do you know who speak more than say two languages fluently?
The era of using slang more than cognitive English for example, has turned the tables on a once well educated system. Pupils are stepping into college unable to spell or put together simple sentences without struggle. That is the reality and it’s frightening.
Waverley Labs have developed “The Pilot System” which could ease us all into the ability to effectively translate what we hear into simple, understandable English, French, Spanish and Italian.
Due to hit the shelves in September, retailing for $129, people will have the opportunity to finally communicate while travelling abroad. You do have the choice of simply continuing to speak really loud and slowly in your home language with the hope that the next person understands you, but why would you want to?
The system comprises of two ear pieces which are easily fitted, along with a handy app which allows you to toggle through settings like the language you wish to hear. Easy and straightforward, this device could be a game changer for many.
Flipping the coin, there is the downfall. Does such a device create a “lazy” society? Will specialist language classes disappear? Will the French class we attended in school be a thing of the past?
As Alex Steer mentions – “The ability to speak to someone in his or her mother tongue is a hugely powerful social gesture – a little like travelling to meet someone face to face, even though you could phone or teleconference. It’s part of what some linguists call the interpersonal function of language – the way language establishes bonds and relationships, as well as passing on information. So even if translation gets really good, there are likely to be good reasons to be able to speak languages not your own.”
What would happen to the world? What would our economy look like? How would business deals be structured? Is this device the fail-safe plan of the future or simply another cool gadget?
