Studies Show How Messy People Are More Creative & Intelligent

“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?”

– Albert Einstein

shutterstock_419175913It turns out, Einstein may be even more accurate than he realized at the time that he made the above statement.

If you are one of those people who just can’t get your desk in order,  leave your belongings laying around or if you just can’t be bothered to wash the dishes every day, chances are you are more intelligent and more creative than your tidy and orderly counterparts!

The University of Minnesota has conducted a study showing that being messy doesn’t make you any less productive than the super tidy people among us.

In fact, it has shown that being messy actually helps stimulate new ideas and creative thoughts.

shutterstock_178353305What psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs and her team of researchers discovered in their research was that while both tidy and messy people generate the same amount of ideas, those who have a more cluttered environment seem to have more interesting and creative ones. So, if you have papers piling up on your desk or a heap of clothes on your floor, chances are you’re actually pretty good at thinking outside the box! Do You Have Rh Negative Blood? New Theory Suggests Your DNA Doesn’t Come From Earth

An interesting new theory suggests if you have an RH negative blood type, you may have a kind of “alien DNA”. Studies show that Rh negative blood types do not carry the gene originating from the rhesus monkey, the supposed animal humans evolved from.

So if we have all come from monkeys, why do some people not carry that crucial gene? Screen Shot 2016-06-14 at 8.52.21 AM

There are 4 blood types that we know of: A, B, AB and O. These differences are classified according to the different proteins which are found on the surface of our blood cells that fight off bacteria in the body. Most people have these proteins which means they are Rh positive. But a very minor group, only 10 to 15% of people have an Rh negative blood type.

This means they lack some of the proteins that an Rh positive person does.

Scientists have questioned where exactly the Rh negative blood group originates from, about 35,000 years ago. It’s seem to originally be connected with certain groups and tribes of people. About 40 to 45% of Europeans have an Rh negative group yet only 3% of African-American and 1% of Asian people have Rh negative blood.

Characteristics that come with this blood type are:

Serotonin and Depression: Symptoms of Low Serotonin

Low Serotonin

A couple of years before I started University, I lived a completely different life. I ate cheap food of questionable nutritional value. I had poor mental habits and exercised little to nothing. I felt anxious in social situations. Today I can recognize the symptoms of a dysfunctional serotonin system, something I could not back then.

Low Serotonin Causes

shutterstock_274692137We have more material things than ever before, but happiness seems to slip through our fingers. In our relentless pursuit of happiness we do the things that destroy it.

We wreck our health, both mentally and physically. The results are low levels of the chemicals that put smiles on our faces.

The number of americans on SSRI antidepressants nearly doubled between 1999 to 2012, from 7% to 13%. SSRI’s are a special class of drugs that block reuptake of serotonin. This leads to increased concentration of serotonin in the synaptic cleft.

People With Blue Eyes All Have One Single Common Ancestor

Have you ever wondered where our eye color comes from?

your-eye-colourrMany people might assume the blue in some people’s eyes developed over time from the reflection from the sky or water. But the truth is a lot more interesting…

The team of researchers from Copenhagen university have found that a single mutation has caused the phenomenon of blue eyes. Every single blue eyed person are genetically related to 1 person who lived in the black sea region between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago.

This gene called  OCA2 really started to be noticed about 8,000 years ago. Dr. Hans Eiberg claims that before this time, every person had brown eyes. This gene created a switch in our genetics which shifted the ability to produce brown eyes and started producing blue tinted iris’s.

Almost 95% of Europeans in Scandinavian countries all share the color blue in their eyes. The color blue in our eyes is as recent as Europe itself. The question many scientists are asking is why and how exactly did we go from no one having blue eyes 10,000 years ago to having 20 to 40% of Europeans having blue eyes now?

16 Rare Hand-Painted Portraits of Samurai Warriors During The 1800’s

Samurais we’re considered military nobility and officers of medieval and early modern Japan. In Chinese, the kanji for samurai was a verb that meant to wait upon or a company persons.

While only less than 10% of Japan’s population were samurais, their teachings are still found today in daily day life and in modern Japanese martial arts. They served as the enforcement for the ruling shogunate and helped gain rule over the country during the 12th century.

In 1854, Japan finally decided to open it’s ports for international trade and these portraits were found. These pictures capture the final years of the existence of samurais in 1868. There was a prohibition of wielding a sword for anyone other than the Armed Forces which led to the dissipation of the samurai class.

To this day, bushido, meaning the way of the warrior is still a thriving concept. It originates from the samurais moral values, stressing the importance of frugality, loyalty, martial arts and honor. These stunning portrait take us back in time to world seemingly so foreign to ours, yet it was only a few hundred years ago these masters roamed the earth.
