APRIL FOOLS! ~ If we can’t be who we are, then we really have sold out!

Ahh, the first of April! A day for jokes and folly, to live the Tarot card “The Fool”!

In case you’re late to the party, here is a link to our April fools joke

TheFoolFun fact, (and I just found this out last night), but did you know that its most likely that April Fools originated when the calendars changed from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian Calendar?  There were a lot of people who weren’t happy about it, who thought that they were actually losing days of their lives because of that change, (It was the dark ages after all), and decided to keep celebrating new years on April 1st!

From there, the mainstream people would literally make fun of those people who stuck with the old system, and April 1st started to become a day of festivities of fools in a way. Since then there have been plenty of different forms of this celebration, and today we call it April Fools.

You can read more about that here if you like, but there’s something deeper that I want to talk about relating to all of this.

This morning, while we were reading all of the comments for April Fools, Ray was walking around talking with Uncle Bob and he said “You know what? If we can’t be who we are and have some fun, then we really have sold out!”, and that really spawned the basis of this article.

Spiritual Quest

Spirit Science started as me, in my basement, making videos about something I was passionate about. Nobody paid me to make it, nobody asked me to make it, and there was no influence in its creation other than I felt so compelled inside to make it, that I did whole heartedly.

Since then, i’ve had a whirlwind of adventure, meeting people and engaging in projects and plans. A lot of people wanted to do things for money, and a lot of people didn’t, and it’s been a lifelong learning of lessons about intentions and motivations and merging ideas together to create with pure of heart… and the core team is pretty fabulous at this point in time, though you haven’t met everyone just yet.

A lot of people have accused us of selling out throughout time, and that’s something we’ve put a lot of focus into identifying what it means, and how NOT to do it.

Yeoldespiritcouncilsml

Ray described earlier very eloquently, selling out is when there is a relationship formed that not everybody benefits from in equal amounts.

The modern definition that comes up on Google is:

Selling out is a common idiomatic pejorative expression for the compromising of a person’s integrity, morality, authenticity, or principles in exchange for personal gain, such as money.
There’s a song about it which I used to listen to all the time as a kid. One of my favorite bands growing up, Reel Big Fish!

In all of our time creating together, we have purposefully gone to great lengths to ensure that the integrity and quality of Spirit Science comes from our hearts, and have deliberately not made any arrangements or deals that would cause us to give away our freedom and ability to create.
HAHAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHAHA

The biggest challenge, of course, is building a system that allows us to grow without giving away any earned resources to the government or IRS, and we’re almost there… That’s been a pretty big block.

But I want you to know, even though I had a REALLY fun time putting together those fox news pictures, that would never happen for realz.
Promise.

Really, it’s not even possible.

Like, at all.

Love you SO much,
Thank you for reading,

What Your Moon Sign Reveals About You

Everyone wants to feel good, but how to get there varies significantly depending on your unique needs. While your Sun sign shows how you express your identity and shine your light out in the world, your Moon sign gives insight into your inner world, revealing what you need to feel safe, happy and comfortable.

The Moon moves so quickly — changing signs every two and a quarter days — that you need to know your time of birth in order to be sure about your Moon sign.

Read below to discover your path to emotional fulfillment. Learning about a friend or loved one’s Moon sign is a great way to get a deeper understanding of their needs and desires.

Moon in AriesNewMoon

Aries is the warrior, and you need to express your fiery, creative and pioneering spirit.

Ideally, you have a place in your life where you can take the lead and be number one, possibly within your home or family.

To feel safe in relationships, you require honesty and directness — you prefer to experience conflict and get your emotions out in the open rather than gloss over unpleasantness for the sake of harmony.

Moon in Taurus

Your earthy, sensual and peace-loving temperament requires frequent communion with nature, and you appreciate having plants and animals in your home. You feel best when you have a stable routine, are surrounded by creature comforts and can indulge in the pleasures of the physical world. In relationships, you need loyalty, reliability and sensuality. Naturally grounded, you have the ability to remain calm even in the midst of crisis.

The 3 Qualities of Your Zodiac Sign: Which One is Yours?

Ok friends, are you ready to dive a little bit deeper into Astrology? You probably know there are 12 zodiac signs and four elements (Fire, Earth, Air and Water), but have you heard about zodiac sign “qualities?”

Every sign is influenced by one of three qualities: Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable.

2555810245_astrology_sun_thumb16352555_answer_1_xlarge

Take fall, for example. Fall Equinox falls on September 22, the same day the Sun enters Libra. Because Libra kicks off the fall season, that makes Libra a Cardinal sign. Scorpio takes over in the midst of fall, making it a Fixed sign. And the season concludes with the Sun in Sagittarius, making that a Mutable sign.

Get it? Astrology is all about nuance, so to truly understand a zodiac sign you must explore the quality each is associated with. So now that you understand how the qualities are structured, let’s take a look at each of the three Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable qualities, what they mean and how they shape your personality.

Cardinal signs

There are four Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Because these signs each start a new season, the quality of their energy is full of initiative. Cardinal signs are impulsive and dynamic, and they push strongly to start new things. In general, people with Cardinal signs in their birth charts generate more new ideas and projects, while those lacking Cardinal energy are more passive.

Fixed signs

There are four Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. These signs carry the weight of each season, which gives them a sturdy quality. Fixed signs are capable of great endurance, and generally people with much Fixed energy in their birth charts are stable and focused, whereas those lacking Fixed energy may not have much sticktoitiveness or perseverance.

Mutable signs

There are four Mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Because these signs fall at the conclusion of each season, their energy anticipates movement and change. People with Mutable signs in their birth charts tend to be more flexible and adaptable to the changing world around them, while those lacking Mutable energy may be stubborn and inflexible or have a difficult time adjusting to new situations.

How qualities are used

When you’re learning Astrology, you’ll discover that every person has a mix of different zodiac signs, elements and qualities in their birth charts. Once you understand the energy of each quality and combine that information with what you know of each zodiac sign and element, a more complete picture will begin to develop.

For example, the Aries zodiac sign is the element of Fire and the quality is Cardinal. This “Cardinal Fire” combination is very bold, so the more Aries energy a person has in their birth chart, the more brazen they will be. On the other hand, Taurus is an Earth sign with a Fixed quality, so it would be called “Fixed Earth” and its overall energy is very slow and grounded.

Knowing how much of each quality you have in your birth chart is very important. These astrological nuances are what shape us as individuals, so going beyond your Sun sign is key when it comes to understanding Astrology.

The Scientific Difference Between Atheist, Religious, and Spiritual People

This is a trip.

In a series of 8 experiments involving a number between 159 and 527 adults, researchers examined the psyche and relationships between belief in God or Spirit, compared to an analytical mindset and moral concern. What they found… was quite interesting. What they found, in the simplest sense, was akin to the difference between the extreme right brain, and extreme left brain.magic-mushrooms-brain

On the Atheist side of the equation, we see extreme examples of intelligence, but we also see signs of psychopathic tendencies, meaning a lack of compassion and fundamental care for other human beings.

Yet on the Religious side of the equation, we see a much higher sense of compassion and care for other individuals, however, they lack a fundamental sense of intelligence.

It is in this comparison that we (meaning, the Spirit Scientists) believe that a complete balance between the two will be the most harmonious path. It is there in the middle, between both hemispheres is where true understanding exists. You see, when we put all of our focus into religious or spiritual practices, we are putting more focus into the right brain, and our intimate connection with All. By doing so, our analytical, left brain thinking goes away.

When we put all of our focus into logic, we are putting focus into the left brain. By its very nature, it is more “disconnected” from the All, meaning is it less concerned with it. It is not looking at the big picture, it focuses on the details that make it up. It is a fundamental part of existence, but it is more concerned with the structural pathways that things connect by. By doing so, it doesn’t consider the whole of the equation, it likes to takes things in piece by piece.

So it does seem like by the nature of this study, that the natural path truly is the way of the Middle. The Spiritual, and the Science. I read a quote recently by one of my favorite authors that described this very well. So much so, that we made a spirit science picture about it.

scienceandpsychic

If we can have the temperance to focus on our left brain mind, with the understanding of the right brain, we can be spiritually present to other peoples needs while also maintaining that logical, scientific understanding of the cosmos. In this, there is great power.

This connection can be achieved by practicing a focusing meditation, of bringing the two hemispheres of your brain together. By laying down, relaxing your body, and focusing on the central point between the two hemispheres of your brain, and the yin and yang of your mind, you can begin to merge your two points of understanding. It can bring you deep understanding of the nature of reality, and really let you unravel the web of consciousness we’ve weaved.

The Science of Eye Contact: The Most Intense Form Of Body Language

“When eye contact between two people is initiated and maintained, an invisible energetic circuit is established between the two participants, dissolving the barriers that ordinarily separate them from each other, drawing them ever closer into a shared awareness of union.”  Will Johnson

Right off the top it’s possible that some of us might think this is some “new-agey” or spiritual practice. I can assure you that eye gazing can be used by anyone and while the experiences we may get from a session might be different, everyone will certainly feel something and likely benefit from it.

Gazing With a Partner

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 1.41.11 PMBoth people should sit comfortable across from one another. Open your eyes after quieting the mind and begin gazing into your partners eyes. Generally your eyes may want to focus more on the left or right eye.

Choose one side and let it be. Over time, you may notice various colors or shapes changing when it comes to your vision of the other person. It is key to simply let all this be and don’t focus on it all too much.

The surroundings will likely begin to blur and things will generally take their course from there. Once again this is based on the intention you set forth. It’s important to note that being open to how things will unfold is key as the same results may not transpire for everyone. Similar to gazing alone, the length of time you choose to gaze is entirely up to both involved, but generally results are better when doe for 5 minutes or more.

A 29,000 Year Old “Siberian Unicorn” Skull Was Just Found

340px-Elasmotherium_1878

Unicorns were real, and they looked something like this. Not the typical, white haired horse you were expecting – but it’s close enough.

It was said that people of the past mistook rhinos as unicorns, not knowing what they were. But it’s not outlandish to think there were variations of species thousands of years ago, some just happened to look similar to what we picture as ‘unicorns’.

It was thought this long extinct mammal died out around 350,000 years ago, but this recent discovery changes everything.

It was thought the animal looked closer to a rhino but this skull shows its much more akin to a horse and was actually still existing 29,000 years ago. Just found in Kazakhstan, this species of animal is known as Elasmotherium sibiricum.

The early descriptions of the Siberian unicorn say it was around 2 metres tall, 4.5 metres long, and weighed close to 4 tonnes. This is bigger than the horses we know today, but back then the typical size of an animal was much larger.

This “Siberian Unicorn” skull was found in the Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan and was in surprisingly good shape. Researchers from Tomsk State University used radiocarbon dating techniques to determine exactly how old the bones were. They suggest it was a male based on the size but are still unsure as to how it died.  Continue reading
