The Spiritual Meaning And Symbolism Behind African Animals

Africa is a beautiful and majestic land, rich with lush plant-life and magnificent animals.

The animals play a huge part in African culture, and their symbolism can be found throughout countless pieces of art and historical accouterments. Each animal has a specific meaning and signifies a certain quality or characteristic.

In fact, several African tribes believe wearing animal carvings on their masks will improve their communication with animal spirits who live in the desert or wooded areas. Interested in what each animal symbolizes? Read below:

The Lion-Lions in Botswana
The lion signifies strength, both in personality and physicality.

He represents courage, valor, and pride.

His counterpart, the lioness, represents femininity, motherhood, and the moon.

The Leopard-
The leopard is known as the Great Watcher, and is a symbol for cunning, agility, and ferocity. The leopard is highly revered in African cultures as a master hunter due to it’s secrecy and mystery. Continue reading

How the Impossible Becomes Possible

What was once believed to be an irreversible law of physics, the second law of thermodynamics, simply confused the impossible with the improbable.

Let there be light!

“Murphy’s law is often cited as a form of the second law of thermodynamics (the law of entropy) because both are predicting a tendency to a more disorganized state.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy’s_law

Entropy, Murphys law, is however only one side of the equation, just as matter is in a constant motion and appears to become more disorganized over time, there is also the seemingly impossible organization of what ‘was’ into the miracle of life.

The proof of this discovery?  Life itself, the most improbable of probabilities.

valleyoflife

The essence of life brings order and structure to that which breaks down.

Imagine a plant, that grows from a seed, structuring the chaos of the ingredients all around it, into breath, a brilliantly complex geometric puzzle of life.

You are that which is living, that which brings order to chaos. You are the majesty of the order of the universe.

Rejoice, YOU are the impossible, become possible, the improbable 1 in infinity, become YOU.

Let there be light.

Music Quest -sing the blues

fret
verb: to feel or express worry, discontent
noun: A sequence of bars or ridges on the fingerboard of some stringed musical instruments (such as guitar), used for fixing the positions of the fingers to produce the desired notes

I have this memory of being a young girl playing alone in my bedroom.  But I wasn’t playing with dolls, I was playing pretend, and not that I was a ballerina, but that I was locked in my room and pounding on the door desperately trying to escape.  I sat by the door with tears in my eyes, though I could get up and walk out any time I wanted.  There was no lock on my door as a child, so I drew one in with magic marker. The imaginary lock remained there until puberty when I upgraded to an actual locked door.  I remembered this childhood game only recently as I’ve been contemplating my reasons for being an artist.  Whenever I feel my efforts are in vain I take a step back and really ask myself if I am on this journey because I am compelled to from within – or if it is a game for me, a goal I set in my mind that I’m too stubborn to let go of until I reach it. The question keeps coming up, why art, why make it? Does it really help anyone but myself? Continue reading

Making Money and Art Commissions

Hey guys, Jordan here! Today i’d like to talk about being spiritual and making money, for this is something that comes up a lot. As you probably know, i’ve been backpacking around the states/australia for about 7 months now, it’s been an awesome trip, and i’ve had some amazing adventures! Many people have accused me of traveling around the world on “daddy’s money”, or just generally doing some sort of underground…stuff.. to make money and keep traveling. I realize it probably seems weird for finances, as were not really selling crystals

It comes time to utilize the power of life in manifestation!

(yet) through the website, and not much income is coming in through Spirit Science. Now that Spirit Science is growing and were becoming more of a “business collective of enlightenment”, that’s becoming a problem, and we are working diligently on a store to sell Crystals, Epic Bumper-stickers, Meditation Tracks, and other things that can help with personal and spiritual development.

Now of course, one perspective we hear when we say things like that is accusations that we are not being spiritual, because we are focusing on MATERIAL THINGS!!! Which clearly is evil, right? Totally. I like to think we understand a balance between the 4 elements. Earth is Material, Air is Mental, Water is Emotional, and Fire is Spiritual. All of these things need a harmonious balance in their own, especially on earth – we are the masters of limitation, and being cut off from higher planes means you REALLY need to balance these to find harmony in your life. I love crystals, they’re awesome, and we want to help share them with everyone! More on this coming soon, but now lets get to the reason for this post.

So finances have kind of dwindled for me as well as the council on our road trip, and I set the intention that i’d like to find a way to easily make money and do what I love (art, animation, sacred geometry, all that jazz!) but still move forward on my path of discovery and be able to share it with everyone! When i set that intention, it didn’t take long for an idea to pop up that actually came up a month or 2 ago from our beautiful friend Vanessa, (You may know her as ShePatch). She suggested that I do art commissions on the site for others, I could draw YOU, or anything you wanted (probably in Patch-form), for a price that could both get you a cartoon version of yourself (or whatever) and assist me in continuing my travels and adventures!

And so, this is what i’m going to do! I can post the images all over my web accounts too, Newgrounds, Deviantart, and of course on Spirit Science, unless you wanted privacy on the image and I could omit it. That decision would come from you :)

I’m setting up an “Patchman Art Commission” Page that you can see here. I’m basically looking at how other artists do their commissions on deviantart and adjusting it to suit me and my needs.

Anyways, I greatly thank you, (yes, YOU) for being who you are and coming back, or visiting for the first time, to this website! If you’re interested in getting some art done from myself of you or a character of yours or whatever in patchman form. Maybe a sacred geometry mandala? Head on over to the Art Commission page and read it over, and potentially send me an email!
Namaste, my friends and family~
