Witty animation artistically explains multidimentional existence in under 3 mins

Once upon a time a man named Plato created a philosophy which clearly dictates the limiting perspectives of the conditioned mind and how our perceptions are created and accepted. If you didn’t understand that philosophy before, let me show you this video! This will explain it in a way you’ve never seen before.

Plato’s allegory of the Cave is the story and metaphor for our awareness of the reality we live in and our prospective of it. Many find it accurate to portray the reality we have perceived is akin to just shadows dancing on a wall, and everything we have previously believed to be true is simply a fraction of the experience of what is really going on in the bigger picture of things. With reality shown to us this way we can begin to understand how there are larger forces of being at play that govern the phenomenon that take place in this realm as well, just like the shadows in the story. Once we see that reality however, when we try to enlighten others sometimes its not so easy to decondition others, as many of you have seen in your own lives.

Permaculture Can Save the Planet.

With our modern world full of rampant consumerism, pollution, and the destruction of the environment  happening at a dangerously rapid pace, it’s becoming painfully clear we need to start doing something different.  I could go on and on all day listing the stuff that’s messed up with this planet right now, but this post isn’t meant to bring you down sooo…   Let’s focus on the positives!

What we can do about these problems we face today?  What are the solutions?

wemeThat’s where permaculture comes in.   The word Permaculture comes from the words “Permanant” and “Culture”, it means what it sounds like; creating a permanent culture.   I hope to share with you the same feelings of hope, inspiration and determination that studying permaculture gives me.

Permaculture is based on the ideas that we are all connected, that we can look to nature to find solutions to the problems we’re facing today and we can conduct our lives in a better way that is not only sustainable, but regenerative; healing the planet and promoting abundance and health.

I started my permaculture journey after stumbling upon a really great website (openpermaculture.com)  dedicated to the subject.  I started watching the free videos they offered and fell so hopelessly in love with the ideas presented that I enrolled in the Permaculture Certification class they offered, deciding this was the direction I wanted to take with my life.

New Years Reflection and the “Point” of Spirituality

livewithwonderWhat is the purpose of spirituality? Why is it so meaningful to me? For me, these are deep, powerful questions, questions that cannot be dismissed with a simple, surface answer.

I’ve decided that, with this being the New Year, it’s a good time not for resolutions, but for reflection, though the latter certainly has the potential to inspire the former. Reflection can liberate us, and it can imprison us. It all depends on the reflection you see. Some of the questions I’m about to ask may even appear to come from a negative place. For me however, they don’t. They are in my opinion, “growth questions.” Hard questions we have to answer for ourselves so we can grow. It’s like pulling out a thorn. It hurts, but it’s necessary for healing to take place.

I have decided to list the questions, and then give personal answers that I myself have found for these. Maybe you have a better answer. If so, tell me in a comment. Drop me an email. I would love to hear what you have to say. Onto the questions. I’ll start with the first one I mentioned.

What is the purpose of spirituality? Continue reading
