How To Do A Spiritual Detox With Your Partner & Improve Your Relationship

After a long enough time together, your relationship with your significant other might feel stagnated or having lost some of the ‘spark’ you once had.

This doesn’t necessarily mean you love each other any less, but it could be a sign that you need a fresh boost of energy individually and as a couple. A spiritual and dietary detox might be just what you need to help your relationship recapture the magic of the past.

Spiritual Cleanse

A spiritual detox is a great way to clean and refresh your mind, body and soul as each is affected by the other.

It is rooted in the idea that everything is energy; humans, animals, plants, thoughts, emotions, etc. and that you carry this energy with you at all times.

It’s recommended to do this cleanse at least once per season so you both are continually refreshing yourselves and each other.

The entire purpose of this cleanse is to replace negative energy with positive so always keep an open mind and stay upbeat with your partner!

1. Visualize your aura

  1. Sit in a distraction-free area of your house. You can do this together, but it’s important to not let each other become a distraction during the exercise.
  2. Relax for 15 minutes by controlling your breathing and de-stressing
  3. Visualize a white light in your mind and have it surround you. Allow it to flow through you as you visualize it moving up and down your back and spine.

2. Discard negative energy

Surround yourself with positive people and try to outweigh the negative ones in your life. Share positive thoughts openly with your partner every day.

3. Cleanse your own negative thoughts

Focus on the bright side of everyday things and confront negative thoughts with positive ones. This is a challenging, but very rewarding exercise to do as a couple. Help each other to confront negativity, and be supportive as difficult things come up. Remember to focus on shifting these thoughts into more positive ones, and don’t let them linger long. Take things a little piece at a time so you won’t be overwhelmed.

4. Get energy healings

Visiting a healer together can help you find entities or emotional cords that need to be cut.

5. Smudge your aura regularly

A Native American practice using burning white sage to cleanse negative energy. It can be used on your house, people, or things and is best used at the end of the day when your energy levels are usually at their lowest. This is a very peaceful way to end the day together.

Benefits of a Spiritual Cleanse

Eliminating toxicity in the spirit inevitably affects the body and mind. The mind cleanses from negatives thoughts causing the spirit to become more active in the flow of your life, thus making the body feel healthier. It also allows for easier open and honest communication between you and your partner which releases negative energies from within.

Much like working out together, a spiritual cleanse creates an increased intimate environment that promotes support between you and your partner. You are actively acknowledging the obstacles you both face as a couple and individually. It also helps combat complacency.

It helps restores the ebb and flow of positivity by bringing forth a deeper connection with each other spiritually. This connection also fosters encouragement of each other and renews the energy between you.

Dietary Cleanse

While a spiritual cleanse is most effective at restoring the energies of your mind, a dietary cleanse can do wonders for your body. Not only from a health standpoint, but also in how it affects your mood as well. Health is holistic, and the health of your body, mind and spirit are closely connected. Detoxing your bodies will ultimately be benefitting your relationship.

The most popular diet cleanse today, used by many celebrities, is the Master Cleanse (or Lemonade Diet) and it’s pretty simple to follow!

Over the course of 10-14 days, you drink 6-12 glasses of a maple syrup/lemon juice/cayenne pepper/water concoction daily. Here are the steps:

1. Ease-in (optional)

– Day 1: Regular diet

– Day 2: Fruits and veggies

– Day 3: Fruit and veggie juice/broth

– Day 4: Three 1L glasses of orange juice

– Day 5: Begin the Master Cleanse

2. Create the lemonade

Mix 2 tbsp. of fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp. maple syrup, 1/10 tsp. of cayenne pepper powder, and 8oz (250ml) of water.

3. Drink 6-12 times per day

You can also increase this amount if you like depending on your caloric needs, urge to eat and desire to lose weight.

4. Salt water flush (optional)

To aid in bowel movements, mix 2 tsp of sea salt (regular or Himalayan) into 1L of water and drink it all within 5 minutes. Don’t start this until at least 1 hour after eating.

5. Ease-out

This part is mandatory because it will prepare you for getting back into eating more food. Do the reverse of the ease-in to complete this.

These two cleanses can be done separately, but together they complement each other beautifully. By restoring the energy’s of your mind, body and spirit you refresh not only yourself but your relationship as well. Give it a try and you just might see the positive change your relationship has been craving!
