16 Signs That You Have Hidden Healing Abilities

Everyone has the potential to be whatever they want and influence the world in whatever way they desire. There is no denying that each person has certain attributes that have been nurtured more than others. Whether done on purpose or subconsoucly, its imprtant that we be able to diagnose our strengths and attend to our weaknesses.

Healers are present in every society and never really sought out until circumastances force us to seek them out. This lack of focus has left potential healers in a state of non recognition. We need healers more than ever, I would surmise, regardless of the fixationn on characters like leaders. Below is a list of traits common to healers. Examine your own character and see if this archetype fits you!

  1. You are frequently told how soothing it is to be around you.
  2. You and the people in close physical proximity of you rarely get sick.
  3. You are constantly thinking of how to improve people’s lives
  4. You have probably been diagnosed with anxiety, panic or mood disorders.
  5. You are highly empathetic, to the point that it disrupts your social life.
  6. You have a family history of healers. You’re elders may have been doctors, therapists, medical workers, humanitarian protesters, veterinarian workers or guidance counselors. Anything to help people with the human condition.
  7. You walk in public spaces with butterflies in your stomach and heightened senses.
  8. You have a way with animals. They react to you more calmly or are just happy to see you.
  9. Strangers spill their life to you with very little prompting.
  10. You are great at massages, though you may have never been to school for it.
  11. You experience neck and shoulder pain often. You hold your stress there.
  12. You revel in being outside.
  13. You are attracted to crystals and are interested in their meta physic properties.
  14. You are interested in spiritual sciences: Reiki, energy healing, shamanism, acupuncture, among others.
  15. Your high level of awareness means you are sensitive to certain foods and drinks. You may often have headaches or digestive issues
  16. You sometimes feel random chills, warmth radiating from your core, or your palms tingle and pulsate.

The main elements of a healer boil down to high sensitivity on multiple wave lengths, the ability to manifest energies, highly emphatic feeling and  a desire to help those around you. There is no blanket theory or agreed upon path for you to take to develop these feelings. You will have to examine where you are in life and strike out as your resources allow. Thankfully, it doesn’t take much to get the ball rolling in terms of healing. Everything in the universe strives to be healthy and happy, we just need to be reminded every so often.

11 Things Your Soul Wants You To Realize

Our souls are so much more than the sum of all other aspects of ourselves. Let that statement sink in. Our soul is more than the totality of our minds, hearts, chakras, energies and thoughts. It will always be like this as well. Inherent to your soul is the potential for growth and connection to others. People have infinite possibilities and abilities in them.

With today day and age its hard for us to hear our inner voices. Multitasking is about to become an Olympic event, or so you would think the way everyone is constantly training for this eventuality. If you can’t take the time to listen to your soul right now, we have taken the privilege of passing along the general notes and desires of the soul.

Be Kinder

Your actions and intentions have far reaching effects. Your soul can sense the rippling effect more than you can mentally conceive. Every act of compassion and kindness will cascade through your community. Spread it around and help others deal with their situations. Your soul knows better than your other aspects of self that we are all in this together.

Stuff Won’t Make People Happy

Your soul doesn’t care about that fancy gadget or a flashy sports car. Don’t let society’s enticements make you lose focus on the needs of your soul. The happier you make your soul, the better positioned you’ll be to combat negativity in the other aspects of yourself.

You Need To Release The Past And Future

Holding on to past experiences and expectations of the future not only fatigue your mind but are damning to your soul. Stop procrastinating on this practice.

Value Your Perceptions More

Perception is reality. Develop and open your perceptions up every moment you can. If you have difficulty examining, isolating or communicating with aspects of your self, a poorly developed perception could be a major factor.

Life Is Hard And Tough

Life is hard, full of trials and obstacles. All suffering is an important part of growth and compassion. Every element of life can be turned into a productive and pleasant end. Your soul has the terms of the infinite in it, so don’t be afraid. Have faith that even if you can’t see the development of a solution in yourself, it only because you have so many possibilities locked away.

It’s Alright If You Don’t Succeed At Everything

Success is over rated. Donn’t be one of those people that when you are winning your ego flourishes. When you’re not doing ass hot then your ego suffers. Your soul’s opinion of your ego probably follows that is that it is like a spoiled child. We learn more in ‘failure’ than in ‘success’. Don’t let your ego make you feel any sort of crazy way. Your soul is simply happy that you are trying.

Don’t Waste Your Time Trying To Please Everyone

The same that is true of you is true of others. We are more than our egos. Don’t bring anymore attention to the egos of others than necessary. Even if making everyone happy was a productive goal (and it definitely isn’t), it could never be achieved within reasonable means.

Fear Is A Necessary and Pertinent Part of Life

‘Fear is the mind killer.’ This is an exaggeration, fear is what keeps our perceptions relative to our situations and desires. It is necessary to live a truly productive life. It keeps our ambitions in check. Like every emotion, it will come to pass. Fear has no truly truly long lasting harmful effects.

Be Impeccable With Your Word

Our words have a different influence than our actions or intentions but they are just as powerful. Don’t use the truth as a weapon to harm or check others. Don’t dissect it for anyone’s advantage. Speech is the second stage of intention before it becomes action. If you aren’t careful abusing your words will skew the results of what ever you are doing. Keep your speech clear and honest to ensure that there is room for your soul’s intentions to compete with the other aspects of yourself.

Blending Into the Crowd Isn’t Good For You

You are disrespecting your soul and your distinctive nature by attempting to fit in with the social ‘bell curve’. You will always succeed more thoroughly if you play to YOUR strengths and weakness.

Don’t Let Loss Stop You From Loving

Your heart is built to experience and create emotions. Don’t let its sometimes maddening range of feelings stop you from pursuing your goals. All emotions will fade and morph with time and awareness.

Science Backs Mind Over Matter In The Brain’s Healing Potential

The brain is arguably one of the most powerful tools available for human use. Its only limitations are the ones we consciously put on it or what we can’t conceive readily. Over the years many powers and super natural abilities have been stipulated as potentially inherent to any individual’s mind. As we become a better connected and open to possibilities, scientists has begun to explore the validity of each. One of these super abilities is a person’s ability to use their brain to guide and accelerate physical .

To be clear we aren’t talking about Reiki or chakra channeling or crystal based energy displacement. Self executed and self reliant ability to direct or speed up the body’s natural ability to heal itself. This is normally achieved through varying forms of meditative trances. There is a form of this ‘self healing’ practiced in most cultures around the world, through out the ages.

Reccently scientists have taken an interest in the  possibilities of these once thought myths. The video below has Lissa Rankin speaking at a TEDtalk about the known reality of self accelerated healing. The medical profession is baffled and a little intimidated of the truth  and applications of this procedure.

The only real way to test and prove this theory is with placebos. Placebos are sugar pills that are given to experiment participants.. They participants are told that the pills have certain effects, though in fact the most they could do give the person a slight sugar rush. 3,500 people with different diseases were given placebos to test the mindful healing theory. The results were all participants were healed or symptoms were improved.

In 1957, the Journal of Projective Techniques published a paper detailing an experiment in which a gentleman was given a placebo. He was told the pill was a wonder drug that would cure his cancer. After taking the pill his tumors shrank tremendously. They revealed that he had taken nothing more than suger pills and his tumors returned to the same size. They gave him another placebo and told him that the new pill was really the wonder drug. Again histumors shrank, this time to half their original size. Radio broadcasts reported that all versions of the drug he had belived to have been taking were worthless and extremely ineffective. He died the next day.

The power of intention is clear and has been proven in many unscientific arenas. Patients with terminal diseases don’t last very long if there is no family or support structure. The American Psychological Association has shown that most antidepressant are not any more effective than the placebos used to substantiate the double blind studies used to test them. Mind over matter is a hard theory to quantify but the evidence is mounting to prove that the main thing holding us back is ourselves.

If You See Someone With This Ear Piercing, This Is Why

Known as a daith piercing, it is a small ring that pierces the inner cartilage of either ear, running through a pressure point.  If you see this piercing around town realize that the wearer may be doing more than being trendy. This piercing is cited as being a cure or deterrent against migraines!

While no substantial studies have been conducted as of yet, this idea is getting a lot of attention. It’s loosely based off acupuncture philosophies. By placing the metal hoop at the crux of the ear applies not only constant pressure but redirects blood flow. This redirection of blood flow and pressure causes a domino effect that keeps the pressure down in areas of the brain.

With one in five Americans suffering from migraines, the need for a solution is clear. There are no consistent treatment methods for this very painful and debilitating chronic condition. The attitude seems to be: hope you don’t get one and if you do, develop a migraine, god bless. No wonder forward thinkers are dissatisfied.

Even the experts are hopeful but reserved. Tammi Bergman, NP, of ERiver Neurology,  specialist of headache relief, states,

“I haven’t really heard of it yet, none of my patients have done it,” she said. “It could just be too new, and in the blogs, but often that’s where these things get started.”

People have posted that they haven’t experienced any migraines since getting the piercing. Relief is ‘guaranteed’ to begin as soon as your skin is punctured. If you opt to try this, and why not if it helps it helps, explain to the piercing specialist your intention in getting this. Do they know where to pierce (the highest crux of the inner fold where ever the cartilage is thickest)? Is it a clean environment? A reputable shop?

The coin is still in the air whether this is a great application of acupuncture or the power of mindfulness. As more people try this option, I expect a University to do some sort of credible study.

This Nurse Shared The Top Five Regrets From People on Their Death Bed

Bronnie Ware was a palliative care specialist for many years. For those who don’t know these are the amazing people who specialize in treating and maintaining individuals with severe diagnoses. Many of their patients pass away in their care. As Ms. Ware would see them for up to 12 weeks before they passed, moments were bound to be shared.  Ms. Ware shared the most oft spoken regrets.  Ms. Ware summarizes the sum of experience with,

“People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.”

I’ve taken some highlights from Ware’s website and followed with my understandings of the information shared.

‘I Wish I’d Had the Courage To Live A Life True to Myself, Not The Life Others Expected Of Me’

This was the most frequently and readily realized regret. People faced with death are well known for seeing through the densest bull. Many realized how many dreams they differed and left in the sun. Ware noted that, ‘Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.’

Don’t disrespect yourself or intentionally deprive yourself of the love you deserve.  If you are the kind of person to let fear hold you back, you are the kind of person who will have a hard time forgiving yourself for the choices you’ve made.

‘I Wish I Didn’t Work So Hard’

“This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.”

Simply put there is more to life than money. Streamline your life to include people and events that matter to you. Are you going to remember and be proud of your toaster or the summer eves you spent with your friends and family? Jobs always bind me down by inflating my sense of pride. Look how many tables you can wait on! Look at all the dirt you shovel! Again is this something you’ll remember fondly? We need money to play society’s twisted game of resources, but keep it a game and don’t let it rule you.

‘I Wish I Had The Courage To Express My Feelings’

Ware points out,

“Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.”

We all try and compromise with the people around us. There is a difference between compromise and surrender. One’s happiness DOES NOT have to come at the cost of another’s joy. Any person I would want to share my life with would never even ask this of me. If I knew that my friends were paying a personal cost for me to be happy that would upset me greatly. So I communicate honestly with the people in my life so we can maximize happiness and personal growth. Stop paying for what should be free!

‘I Wish I Had Stayed In Touch With My Friends’

Ware’s summary of her patients feelings brought a tear to my eye,

“Often they would not truly realize the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.”

This understanding saddened me the most of all five. For people to die thinking that no one thinks of them or remembers them makes me feel cold inside. Treat your friends well is the moral of this story. Don’t EVER hesitate to tell someone you love them. They will appreciate this more than they may ever say.

How hard is it to keep in touch with friends in this day in age. Even if it’s a little blurb or hello, send it. That message carries powerful intentions that will stay with the recipient.

‘I Wish That I had Let Myself Be Happier’

“This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realize until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives,” Ware commented. “Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.”

This fills me with potential. I view happiness as the goal that as long as your trying, you can’t loose. There is no ‘ultimate’ happiness to chase after, only the feeling we can share with those we love. We get caught up in the idea of the ‘perfect world’. When those impossible parameters can not be met we settle for something that is a far cry from what we deserve. Keep trying. Keep fighting. Most importantly keep loving.

8 Traditional Beliefs That Have Now Been Proved By Science

Our ancestors had the same needs and desires as people in the modern age, the only difference is how we achieve them. People have always gotten sick, needed comfort, tried to push the limits, and understand the world they live. The tricks, practices, and intentions of purpose that societies practiced hundreds, or thousands of years earlier paved the way for this generation to build on.

Some of these ideas and methods are still practiced today, in the same or similar fashion they started out in. That is an indicator of something that not only works but is worth holding onto. In this modern age of a ‘prove it’ mentality, the explanations by men and women in lab coats are the only ones taken seriously. Now, finally after years of research, the good people in coats have moved these techniques from the list of holistic, to helpful.

Helping OTHERS Can Help YOUR Health

Giving factual substance to the golden rule of being a good person, a study compared two philosophies of happiness. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s study compared the effectiveness of hedonic and eudaemonic philosophies of happiness. Hedonic well-being is based on the notion that increased pleasure and decreased pain leads to happiness.shutterstock_243300958

Hedonic concepts are based on the notion of subjective well-being. Eudaemonic happiness is based on the premise that people feel happy if they experience life purpose, challenges and growth.

Using phone interviews, questionnaire,s and blood samples, the study explored how the philosophies effected people on a genetic level. Participants with more hedonic and less eudaemonic well-being were found to have a lower production of virus-attacking antibodies, while those with more eudaemonic well-being experienced an increase in antibody production.

Acupuncture Can Restore Health And Balance the Body

Originating out of China, addresses energy, blood and chemical imbalances in the body through manipulation of chi. Chi is the energy found in all living beings. The National Institutes of Health funded a study into the benefits of acupuncture, currently thought to be used by 3 million Americans a year.

Analyzing data collected from 18,000 subjects, researchers found that acupuncture is more effective than sham acupuncture and standard western care when treating various types of pain, including migraines and chronic back pain.

We Need the Support Of A Community In Order To Thrive

Every community has proven it’s worth. Support is a must for survival and growth. Without a healthy and productive social life, shutterstock_199696376we physically start to fail. Brigham Young University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers confirmed this belief in 2010.

Analyzing the 148 studies, spanning more than 300,000 individual participants, available on the subject, researchers discovered that those with stronger social relationships maintained a 50 percent increased likelihood of survival.

The effect of social relationships on mortality risk is even greater than the effect of exercise or obesity.

Tai Chi Alleviates A Number Of Health Conditions

A very old martial art that stresses balancing mental and physical discipline to achieve spiritual harmony and peace. It has been long held that this practice provides a longer life.
A report summarized several studies confirming that this “moving meditation” practice can help prevent and treat many age-related health problems, alongside standard treatment in older adults. A number of studies in the past decade have found tai chi to be helpful for those suffering from arthritis, low bone density, and heart disease.

Meditation Reduces Stress

A form of meditation can be found in every society and is not always attached to a religion. Meditation aids the mind in building awareness and focus. A team of researchers from Harvard Medical School reveals how this practice can affect genes linked to stress control and immune function.shutterstock_207563935

Utilizing neuro imaging and genomics technology to measure the physical potential for change. After regimented yoga and meditative practices, they viewed the before and afters.

There was a dramatic increase in mitochondrial energy production, utilization, and resiliency, which help to reduce the stress linked to health conditions like hypertension and infertility.

Compassion Is The Key To A Meaningful Life

Tibetan Buddhism includes a practice of ‘metta’ of the formation of loving kindness. Emory University released a study specifically marking how this practice boosted an individual’s ability to to empathize via their facial expressions.

A similar study on the same subject revealed that  participants’ positive emotions allowed them to find a deeper sense of mindfulness, their purpose in life, the network of support surrounding them, and their health. These components helped increase their overall life satisfaction.

Acceptance Is Key

Deakin University showed that facing the realities of assisted living, and therefore losing a degree of independence, helps seniors live longer and feel happier. The study compared feelings of life satisfaction and perceived control of older adults living with assistance and those living in the community.

All You Need Is Love

One constant in every era for every society is the understanding that love propagates longevity, health, and productivity. The Harvard Grant study, conducted over 75 years, gathered empirical evidence to back that up.

268 males were followed over this time and their lives were dissected to find how love motivated and changed them. Love was the most powerful and consistent element for positive change in all their lives.
